Work placement:
Professional practice: 6 weeks. Internship rules in accordance with departmental internship rules.
Graduation requirements:
Achievement of the learning outcomes and the required number of ECTS credits specified in the study programme, completion of the internships required in the study programme, successful completion of the diploma examination.
Graduate profile and further learning opportunities:
Graduates of Bachelor of Science in Chemistry after obtaining the professional title of engineer:
- has a general knowledge of mathematics, physics, computer science, chemical engineering, chemical processes occurring in the systems and technologies under study
- has a thorough knowledge of chemistry
- is able to design and obtain compounds with specific properties, study their structures and physico-chemical properties,
- operates modern research and measurement apparatus and computer-aided design tools to solve engineering tasks in chemistry, engineering and chemical technology
- has knowledge of English and basic knowledge of economics and environmental protection.
The Graduate is ready to undertake work in chemical and related industries as well as small-scale manufacturing and administration, in the field of production and use of chemical products, handling of raw materials and used goods and waste, proper use of natural resources, work in research and R&D units, high-tech companies and in scientific institutions, universities and technology transfer centres. Graduates of the course consciously promote sustainable development and are able to apply its principles in their work, actively participate in group work and are able to lead small teams of people, and are ready to undertake second-level studies.
