Achieving the required learning outcomes, including passing exams specified in the study program and obtaining the required number of ECTS points, completing a diploma thesis, and passing a diploma exam.
Graduate profile and further learning opportunities:
A graduate of the Bachelor's degree program in Transport Engineering at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Gdańsk University of Technology acquires fundamental knowledge and skills in the planning, design, operation, and maintenance of road, rail, air, water, and intermodal transportation systems. Additionally, they possess the foundations for creative and effective teamwork in modern transportation system planning and management at the national, regional, and local levels, or advanced diagnostics and maintenance of transportation infrastructure in road, rail, water, and air transport.Specifically, they acquire knowledge and skills in the following areas:
- Basics of transportation system functioning in connection with issues of economics, environmental protection, and spatial planning;
- Sustainable transportation and mobility;
- Basics of designing and constructing road, rail, waterway, and airport infrastructure;
- Road, rail, and waterway traffic engineering, useful in designing and implementing traffic control systems using traffic lights and other modern information carriers, as well as advanced transportation management systems;
- Logistic processes in production systems, supply, warehousing, and distribution of goods, as well as their transportation and forwarding, both in transportation management offices, manufacturing plants, and logistics centers;
- Operation of means of transportation, materials and structures, as well as electrical and telecommunication equipment in transportation;
- Basics of electronics, electrical engineering, automation, geodetic techniques, and satellite navigation necessary for transportation management;
- Basics of computer science, databases, and programming in solving transportation problems;
- Impact of transportation on the social and economic development of cities, counties, and provinces;
- Impact of transportation on safety, environment, and economy, as well as the implementation of sustainable development principles;
- Legal conditions and standardization in the transportation industry.
