Graduate profile and further learning opportunities:

A graduate of the second-cycle (Masters) degree programme in Civil Engineering possesses a comprehensive, in-depth engineering education, as well as expert theoretical and practical knowledge. They are prepared to independently solve complex, unconventional design, construction, and organizational problems.

Graduation with a Masters degree upon completion of the statutory professional internship provides a full foundation to apply for unrestricted building qualifications (professional licensure) in the relevant specialties. The graduate is also prepared to manage large teams, coordinate multi-disciplinary projects, and pursue education at a doctoral school or engage in scientific and research work.

Regardless of the chosen specialization, a second-cycle graduate of Gdańsk University of Technology is able to:

  • Formulate and test research hypotheses, as well as design and conduct advanced laboratory and numerical experiments.
  • Design complex engineering structures, taking into account economic, social, and environmental factors.
  • Utilize modern digital tools, including FEM (Finite Element Method), BIM (Building Information Modeling), and engineering software to optimize technical solutions.
  • Lead teams, manage the construction process, and assume responsibility for the safety, economic, and environmental impacts of the undertaken activities.
  • Act entrepreneurially, communicate with the environment in a foreign language at the B2+ level, and continuously update their knowledge as part of ongoing professional development
