Work placement:
General construction internship, taken after any semester (above sem. 4), settled in semester 8. Total duration of internship: 8 weeks (full-time studies) or 5 weeks (part-time studies).
Graduation requirements:
obtaining 240 ECTS credits
submission of an engineering diploma thesis (or an engineering diploma project) and passing the diploma examination
Graduate profile and further learning opportunities:
The graduate of the first degree programme acquires knowledge in the design and construction of a variety of building structures. At the end of the studies, he/she has the abilities and skills for creative work in the following fields: design, execution, renovation of buildings and engineering structures, and supervision and management of construction processes using modern computer techniques. The graduate also acquires the professional skills necessary in today's labour market. He/she knows at least one foreign language at the B2 proficiency level of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. He/she is prepared to work on construction sites, in construction and design offices and in institutions dealing with construction consultancy. He/she has the necessary skills to manage the construction of buildings, design public, industrial and communication facilities, organise the production of building elements and supervise construction workmanship. The graduate is also prepared to undertake a second degree programme.
