Work placement:

The rules of conducting the practice comply with the Faculty Practice Regulations. They are an integral part of the curriculum and are not subject to classification.

Students conduct the practice in compliance with the schedule of the selected study course. The practice aims at practical verification of the theoretical knowledge gained during the studies or preparation for writing the diploma thesis.

Practice is organized in cooperation with external institutions/companies.

Graduation requirements:

Obtaining the learning outcomes and the required number of ECTS points specified in the education program, submitting and obtaining a positive grade for the diploma thesis and passing the diploma examination.

Graduate profile and further learning opportunities:

A graduate of the first-cycle studies is comprehensively prepared to work in the dynamically developing sector related to the design and construction of yachts, which in recent years has become one of the very positive showcases of the Polish industry, gaining recognition from customers around the world. This is evidenced by production and sales results as well as definitely above-average salaries earned by those specialists. Solid scientific foundations obtained in the course of studies as well as well-established theoretical knowledge and acquired practical skills enable the graduate to carry out responsible engineering tasks related to the design of sailing and motor yachts, their construction, certification and classification. The substantive scope of the studies, covering all important aspects of yacht construction, reconstruction and modernization, from the conceptual design, through construction, modern materials, to execution and equipping, places the graduate in a small group of highly qualified specialists sought after on the domestic and international job market. A graduate's distinguishing feature is the ability to work conceptually, achieved by acquiring academic knowledge and mastering modern computational methods, including the basics of numerical fluid dynamics (CFD) and strength calculations performed using the finite element method (FEM), as well as measurement techniques. Thanks to the comprehensive substantive preparation obtained, the graduate can carry out creative tasks, and after gaining professional experience - effectively manage teams of specialists in the analytical, design and executive areas. They are also prepared to undertake second-cycle studies, broadening their knowledge and competences.
